About Christina

Christina is a classically trained pianist, music teacher, composer and early childhood music specialist.

She has been playing piano since she was four and a half years old, and absolutely loves being able to share the joy of music making with others.

She has been sharing her music expertise teaching private piano lessons in and around Melbourne since 2008.  She spent 2015-2018 living and teaching in Sydney, where she quickly became one of the most sought after piano teachers in the Eastern suburbs.  A Melbourne girl at heart, she is now settled in Brunswick East and excited to be back living and teaching in her favourite Australian city.

With a Bachelor of Creative Arts/Music from the University of Melbourne,  Christina has an in depth understanding of all aspects of the piano and it's rich history and longevity. It is the perfect foundational instrument for beginners, and can lead to many other areas of music.  Her focus is fostering a warm, creative and inspiring environment for students to excel in lessons tailored to the individual.

Throughout her career she has explored various methods and styles and her teaching encompasses a variety of genres including classical, contemporary, improvisation, composition and music theory.

As a teacher Christina has a passion for learning, and is always looking to improve, update and challenge her own method and approach.  She has a strong belief that music learning should be fun, modern, interesting, and inspire a love of music and learning for every student.

At Middle C Studio in Melbourne's Brunswick East, Christina aims to give students of all ages and levels the best possible music education experience.  Whether the focus is on AMEB grades, an introduction to the keyboard, learning all your favourite pop songs or experimenting with writing/recording,  Christina can help students achieve their music goals.

Students also have th eopportunity to gain perromance experience at the annual student concert held locally in Brunswick.

Christina is also an avid composer and performer. Her duo Nomads Like Us were awarded Best Music Show at the Melbourne Fringe in 2019 and Best in Music at the Sydney Fringe Festival 2022 for their original performance for two pianos and film The Unravelling. They have performed at various festivals and venues locally and interstate and continue to create and develop new work. Christina's solo music can be found on Spotify and ITunes.

Christina has a current Working With Children Check.
